John Henry McDevitt, aged 74, died at 6 a.m. Sunday (i.e. 7 Nov. 1926) at his home in West Liberty after a lingering illness. He was a prominent farmer and spent all his life in that district.
Mr. McDevitt is survived by the following: His widow, Mrs. Rebecca (Hines) McDevitt; six sons, Elmer, W. W., Harry, R. E., Jesse and Eugene McDevitt, all of West Liberty; four daughters, Mrs. Thomas Mayer of West Liberty, Mrs. James Moon of Lockport, N.Y., Mrs. Lawrence Hilgar of Grove City, and Mrs. Paul Book of Chicora; three sisters, Mrs. Theresa McClymonds of Coraopolis, Mrs. Robert Dickson of Slippery Rock, and Miss Keziah McDevitt of West Liberty; three brothers, W. E, D. W., and Ross McDevitt of West Liberty.
Funeral services will be held at the residence at 2 p.m. Tuesday, conducted by Rev. Ira Scott of Slippery Rock. Burial will be made in West Liberty cemetery.

Theresa McDeavitt McClymonds, aged 76, of Coraopolis, widow of I.C. McClymonds, died at home of son J. B. McClymonds, 115 Arthur St., Zelenople, "last night" (i.e., 4 July 1932) of heart attack. Survived by 3 children: Mrs. R.M. Clark of Coraopolis; D. E., of Hunting Beach CA, & J. B. McClymonds of Zelienople; 7 grandchildren, 7 gr-grandchildren; 3 brothers: W. & R. McDeavitt of Princeton & William McDeavitt of West Liberty; and a sister Mrs. Robert Dickson of Slippery Rock. Member of United Presby. Ch. of Coraopolis. Burial West Liberty Cemetery "Thursday (i.e. 7 July 1932).

William F. McDeavitt aged 76 died "last night" (i.e.,21 Feb 1949) at the home of his son David N. McDeavitt of West Liberty after lingering illness. He had spent his life in the West Liberty district. Surviving are 2 sons David and Ross McDeavitt of West Liberty; daughter Mrs. Mary Link of Pertersville; brother Ross McDeavitt of Princeton. Was member of West Liberty Methodist Church. Friends received at the David McDeavitt home, West Liberty. Funeral to be held Thursday from the home, Rev. Walter Gilliland, pastor of West Liberty Methodist, officiating; burial in West Liberty cemetery.

  • Re. Harriet McDeavitt & Robert Dickson. The 1910, 1920,& 1930 census show them living in Slippery Rock Township, with Robert about 5 years older than Harriet. In 1910 parents are age Robert 46 and Harriet 41; children are Aline (18),Lucile (14), R. Russell (12), Phylis (11), Twila F. (9), Lilian J. (6), Mabel I. (3), and son Clare L. (2).
    In 1920 parents are age 56 and 50; children are Phylis (20),Twila (19), Lilian (15), Mabel (13), son Claire (11), & Charlotte (8).
    In 1930, parents are age 65 & 61, all born in PA except Robert Dickson & his parents born Northern Ireland, daughters: Lillian (26), Charlotte M. (18); granddaughters: Maxine Reesman (11) and Vera Reesman (9).
