Lines 25-32 lists Richard Hines, 70, married to Elizabeth Hines, 70, living at the house of their son, Thomas Hines, 38. Also present are five additional children: son George Hines, 35; son Elij. Hines, 33; *son Edward Hines, 18; *son Richard Hines, 19; and daughter Mary Hines, 21. Thomas is a farmer, George, Elijah, Edward, and the younger Richard are all farm laborers. Everyone was born in PA except for the elder Richard, who was born in Ireland.
*Note: Edward B. Hines, born 1841 and his brother Richard Hines, born 1839, are grandsons (sons of Wm. Boston Hines' 1st marriage).

13 1870 United States Federal Census, Brady Township, Butler County, PA, Page 10, lines 6-11 lists Richard Hinez, 82, married to Elizabeth Hinez, 74, living at the house of their son, George Hines, 43. Also present are three additional children: *son Richard Hinez, 30; daughter Mary Hinez, 25[28?]; and son Eli Hinez, 42. George and Richard are farmers, Eli is a common laborer. The elder Richard Hinez's occupation is listed as "infirm." Everyone was born in PA except the elder Richard, who was born in Ireland--his parents are also listed as being of foreign birth. George, Richard, and Eli are listed as having a father of foreign birth, Mary and Elizabeth are not. This census is dated 19 Aug 1870.
  • Note: Richard Hines, born 1839, is a grandsons (son of Wm. Boston Hines' 1st marriage).

14 "Hines Genealogies 1751-1941" by Mrs. W. R. Hines, Slippery Rock PA. This 14 pg. manuscript traces primarily the family of William Boston Hines (1813-1878), the son of Richard Hines, Jr. and Elizabeth Brandon.
  • Wm. Boston Hines married 1st) Eleanor Douglass (1815-1841). Their children were Richard Hines b. 7 Jan. 1839, died 1873 (no further information), and Edward Hines b. 31 Mar. 1841, died 1885; married Rebecca Hogue (1843-1885 (2nd cousins). Two pages of descendants of Edward Hines & Rebecca Hogue are listed.
  • Wm. Boston Hines married 2nd) Margaret Robison (1824-1892); they had ten children. Eight pages of descendants of Wm. Boston Hines and Margaret Robison are listed, and it is noted that through 6 or their 10 children they had 38 grandchildren, 81 gr-grandchildren, 85 gr-gr-grandchildren.
