They are listed as living with four children: son Samuel Wimer, 22; daughter Mary J. Wimer, 20; son Abner Wimer, 19; and son George Wimer, 16. All of the men are listed as farmers. Betty was born in Ireland, everyone else in PA. Samuel Sr. is listed as unable to read or write. George is listed as having attended school in the census year. This census is dated August 6, 1850.
Note: this is the family of Samuel Wimer, Sr. & wife Elizabeth Hines, with son Samuel Wimer Jr. (age 22) , who also eventually marries an Elizabeth.

They are listed as having had four children, none of whom are alive. Everyone and their parents were born in PA. Samuel is listed as a farmer. Both can read, write, and speak English. They own a farm, with mortgage.
Note: the recording that they had 4 children, 0 living, is erroneous. Five children are listed in the 1860 & 1870 census, and we know that son Isaac C. lived until 1942.

They live with six children: son Lawrence J. Wimer, 23; daugher Clara M. Wimer, 17; daughter Meda M. Wimer, 15; daughter Ida T. Wimer, 12; daughter Mary B. Wimer, 10; and daughter Bertha L. Wimer, 6. Also present is Isaac's father, Samuel Wimer, 83, and Isaac's grandson, James P. Wimer, 8. Isaac and Maggie have been married for 27 years and Maggie has given birth to eight children, seven of whom are still living. Everyone and their parents were born in PA. Everyone can read, write, and speak English. Isaac's occupation is listed as "Farmer." Lawrence and Samuel are listed as "Carpenters." Clara, Meda, Ida, Mary, Bertha, and James all attended school within the census year. This census is dated 20 Apr 1910.

9 Book: History of Butler County Pennsylvania 1895, page 1240, indicates that Christopher Wimer came from Adams Co., PA, to Butler Co., PA in 1798 and settled in Worth Twp. He married Miss Snyder of Adams Co., and together they had seven children named Samuel, John, Peter, Jonathan, William, Isaac, and Rebecca. Rebecca married Thomas Kelly. Christopher's son Samuel Wimer was born in Adams Co. in 1792. He died in 1873. He married Elizabeth Hines, daughter of Richard Hines, and had four children: Samuel of Worth Twp., Mary J., deceased wife of James Abinett, Abner, and George. At the time of this publication (1895), Samuel Jr. was living with his brother George on the 210 acre farm they inherited from Samuel Sr.

Samuel Wimer, Jr. (b. 1829, d. ~1910) m.Elizabeth Hoge(b. 1832, d. ~1910), a daughter of James J. Hoge (error: see James Irvin Hogue source notes), Deputy Surveyor of Butler County. Lists 5 children: Elizabeth Wimer (b.1853) m. Warren McDeavitt; Eleanor Wimer (b. 1856) m. James Q. Alexander (1849-1932); Isaac L. Wimer (1858-25 Aug. 1942) m. Margaret Robison (1864-30 Apr 1950); George Wimer (1859-~1889), age 30, never married; Margaret Wimer (b. 1861).
Samuel Wimer, Jr. was born on his parents' original homestaead on 1st Donation District Lot No. 160. He moved to the "John Bell" tract which his grandfather purchased in 1832. At his maturity, his father gave him a portion of the "Grant's Reward" tract near Mt. Union. After marriage he purchased (on 12 Feb. 1873) 74 acres 76 perches in Worth Twp. where they lived until their deaths.

Samuel Wimer of Worth Twp. died at age 86 on Thurs. night, after a short illness due to old age. He was the son of the late Samuel & Elizabeth (Hines) Wimer, pioneers of Worth Twp.; resided all his life in the district. Survived by son Isaac Wimer who resides on the homestead, & 3 daughters, Mrs. Warren McDeavett & Mrs. James Alexander of West Liberty and Mrs. George Kelley of Keister. A brother George Wimer of Worth Twp. also survives. Funeral services at the residence Sat. 1:00 p.m. by Rev. R. G. Thomas, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal church at West Liberty; burial in West Liberty cemetery.

Ford McDeavitt, 82, West Liberty Boro, died 3 Jan. 1978, born 29 Sept 1895 in West Liberty, son of Warren and Elizabeth Wimer mcDeavitt. He was a stone mason. Married on 17 Sept 1920 to Betty Dickson McDeavitt. Five sons & 2 daughters. Burial West Liberty Cemetery.

Samuel Wimer died at the age of 85 years, 2 months, and 21 days in Worth Twp., Butler Co., PA, on 18 Jan 1912 of "senility with weak heart." He was a widower. He was born on 29 Oct 1826 in PA. He worked as a farmer. His father was Samuel Wimer, born in PA. His mother was Elizabeth Hines, born in PA. The informant was Isaac Wimer of Slippery Rock, PA. Samuel was bured at West Liberty, PA on 20 Jan 1912.
