His family's plot lies closer to that of Richard Hines Sr. The family plot has the stone of his wife Elizabeth at center. To the left of Elizabeth's stone is a stone for son George H. Hines. A broken stone for son Thomas Hines leans against that of Elizabeth, its base being to the right of hers. To the far right is a stone for 3 yr old son Isaiah.

Source notes

  • 20th Century History of Butler & Butler County PA by McKee, pg. 861 re. George W. Hines makes a generational error: George W. Hines was a great-grandson of Richard Hines & Elizabeth Brandon. He was a grandson of Richard Hines, Jr. This calls into question which Richard Hines (Sr. or Jr.) is referred to as the veteran of the Revolutionary War. We know however that Richard Hines, Jr. served in the War of 1812. His gravestone makes no mention of the Revolutionary War. Presumably the Revolutionary War reference is meant to be Richard Sr., husband of Elizabeth Brandon.
