"The children of Daniel and Elizabeth (Sturgeon) McDeavitt were as follows: Catharine, Henry, James and John. Catherine and James both remained single. Henry married Jane McClymonds for his first wife, and Mrs. Rebecca Bell for his second. Six children were born of the first wife, and one of the second. All are now living except one. John married Jane St. Clair, and died while absent on business at Louisville, Ky., in 1851. Catharine died in 1864; Henry in 1876. He was an 1812 soldier. Daniel McDeavitt, the father, died in 1805 at the age of forty-nine. His widow survived until 1835."
