Source notes
- For Edward B. Hines & Rebecca Hogue to be 2nd cousins, they would have to share a common ancestor in the 3rd generation back. (1st generation back would hold their cousins, 2nd generation back would hold siblings, 3rd generation back would hold common ancestor.) All ancestors are known in the 2nd generation back except for the parents of Eleanor Douglas, her father being designated as Unknown Douglas and her mother being completely unknown. No siblings (no duplication of surnames) appear in the known list. The implication therefore is that Eleanor Douglas' mother (surname unknown) was a sibling of another of the 2nd generation ancestors. These 2nd generation ancestors include for Rebecca Hogue: Margaret St. Clair & James Irvin Hogue; Thomas Kelly & Rebeca Wimer. They include for Edward B. Hines: Richard Hines, Jr. & Elizabeth Brandon/Brannan; Unknown Douglas and wife unknown. Wife unknown, mother of Eleanor Douglas, therefore, must have been sister to a Brannan, Hines, Wimer, Kelly, St. Clair, or Hogue.
