The last will and testament of John Stoughton of Muddy Creek township Butler County in the name of God I John Stoughton considering the uncertainty of this mortal life and being of sound mind and memory blessed be almighty God for the same do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following, that is to say:
First I do give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Nancy Stoughton after all my honest debts is paid all the moveable property and the products of the farm for the maintainence of herself and the children (lined through: until the youngest child is of age)(overwritten: during her natural life) at which time the real estate is to be put to sale and the price thereof divided equal between the above named Nancy Stoughton and my oldest daughter Catharine and my son Thomas Jeferson and my daughter daughter (sic) Martha Jane and my son Wm. and my daughter Euphamy and my daughter Hannah Manervy in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the nineteenth day of April one thousand eight hundred and fifty two. Signed sealed and declared by the above named John Stoughton to be his last will and testament in the presence of us who at his request and in his presence have subscribed our names as witnesses thereunto. Henry Studebaker, Wm Emery
N.B. I do also constitute and appoint Michael Stinetorf my sole executor of this my last will and testament and it is my wish that he would sell enough of my property to the best advantage at private sale to pay all my just debts in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this nineteenth day of April one thousand eight hundred and fifty two. Before me the subscriber Register of wills in and for said county came Henry Studdybaker and Wm Emery the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing will who being duly sworn do depose and say that they were present with the testator John Stoughton who is since deceased, and heard the said testator pronounce and declare the forgoing instrument of writing as and for his last will and testament and at the time he made such declaration he was of sound and dispossing mind and memory and that they signed their names as witness thereto at the request and in the presence of the testator. Butler County. Before me the subscriber of wills in and for said County came Michael Stinetorf the executor appointed in the last will and testament of John Stoughton deceased who being duly sworn does depose and say that he will well and truly administer the goods and chattels rights and credits of the said deceased and make a just appraisement thereof and exhibit the same into the Register's office at Butler in 30 days from this date and render a just account and settlement of his said administration in one year or when thereunto lawfully required. A true and perfect inventory and apprasment of the goods Rights and Credits which were of John Stoughton late of Muddycreek Township Butler County Pennsylvania deceased who died testate having appointed Michael Staintorf his executor.

Butler County. We William Emery and George Book appraisors of said estate do swear that we will well and truly and without partiality or prejudice value and appraise said goods chatels and credits of said estate and in all respects perform our duties as appraisors to the best of our skill and judgement.
