| 6 | Obituary of Walter Benjamin Beals, from collection of Peg Kahle, original source not given. Walter Benjamin Beals, age 69, of Emlenton died 3 pm at his home. Born 22 March 1901 in foxburg, a son of James Sinas and Florence Burgham Beals. Married to Edith Shannon who survives. Member of the United Methodist Church of Emlenton, Odd Fellows, the Town Club, and the Chamber of Commerce. He was an outstanding athlete and musician. He was aformer Boy Scout leader. Employed 36 years at the Sterling Oil Division of Quaker State Oil Refining Company in Emlenton and supervised the Sterling Service stations for several years. Also survived by two sons: Duane Beals of Coraoplois and David Beals of Lincroft, NJ; one brother: William J. Beals of Butler; two sisters: Mrs. John (Aida) Layne of Perryville and Mrs. Lawrence (Dorothy) Dittman of Lamartine; and five grandchildren. Preceded in death by one daughter: Patricia in 1933. Services at the Criswell Funeral Home 11 am Tuesday., Rev. Lloyd Tennies, pastor of Emlenton UMC presiding. Interment in Emlenton Cemetery. |
