Lillian Mae Beals was a granddaughter of Samuel Beals Her daughter, Edith Geraldine Shannon, married Walter Benjamin Beals, son of James Sinas Beals and a grandson of William Beals. The marriage of these second cousins brought together the lines of two sons of Jacob Beals and Elizabeth Brey,(i.e. William and Samuel Beals).

7	Obituary of Lillian Mae Beals Shannon, from collection of Peg Kahle, OIl City Derrick, Monday 21 Oct 1967. Lillian Shannon, age 89, died Saturday in Franklin Hospital. Born 28 Oct 1877 in Beaver Twp, Clarion County to Frank and Permelia Zellers Beals. MArried 8 Jan 1896 to Maurice Shannon. He preceded her in death 27 June 1847. Lived most of her life in Emlenton, for the last 17 years with her daughter Mrs. LAwrence Gates. She was a member of the Emlenton Methodist Church and the Lady Emlen Rebekah Lodge. Surviving are three daughters: Mrs. LAwrence (Olive) Gates, Mrs. Walter (Edith) Beals, and Mrs. Rollin (Faye) Taylor, all of Emlenton; one brother:: Jefferson E. Beals of Fort Worth, TX; four grandchldren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Services in the Criswell Funeral Home 2 pm Tuesday, Rev.
