Source notes

  • At present, our knowledge of the Schneider family is limited to notes and outlines received by correspondence in Jan. 2007. Included was a list of references for some items, but without copies of the primary sources, so that exact contents are unknown, or the limits of their application.

Conjecture

  • Our direct ancestor Mary Sophia Snyder (great-granddaughter of Jacob Schneider) married Christophel Weimert, also known as Christopher Wimer. Records show a Christoffel Wimer on the ship "Fane" arrived in America 8 Oct. 1749, from Rothenstein. Also on the Fane were two men named Jacob Schneider. Johann Phillip Scneder(Mary Sophia's father) had a brother named Jacob(b. 1735, so age 14 in 1749).
