Beals, 10, born Apr. 1890. James Elgie is listed as being born in PA, having attended school for 7 months that year, and able to read, write, and speak English. This census is dated June 13, 1900.

2 1910 United States Federal Census, Sugarcreek Twp., Venango Co., PA, Enumeration District 147, Supervisor's District 18, Page 3B, lines 71-74 lists Earl C. Bell, 31, living with his wife, Florence Bell, age 25, and daughter Ethel Bell, age 3. Also present is Earl's brother, James W. Bell, age 26. They are renting their home. Earl and Florence have been married for 4 years. Florence has given birth to two children, only one of which is still living. Everyone can speak English. Everyone but Ethel can read and write. Everyone and their parents were born in PA. Earl is a shipping clerk at an oil refinery. James is a street car conductor. No one else works. This census is dated 19 Apr 1910.

Bell, 41, living with his wife, Florence Bell, age 35, and their three children: daughter Ethel Bell, age 13; daughter Olive L. Bell, age 9; and son Earl K. Bell, age 3 years 8 months. They are renting their home; a margin note on the census page indicates that they live on Meadville Road. Everyone but Olive can read, write, and speak English. Ethel and Olive attended school since September 1, 1919. Everyone and their parents were born in PA. Earl is a shipping clerk at an oil refinery. No one else works. This census is dated 19 Jan 1920.

Bell, 51, living with his wife, Florence Bell, age 45, and their three children: daughter Olive L. Bell, age 19; son E. Kenneth Bell, age 13; and daughter Dorothy V. Bell, age 6. They own their house (which is not a farm), which is valued at $3,000. They own a radio set. At the time of their first marriages, Earl was 27 and Florence was 21. Kenneth attended school in the last year. Everyone but Dorothy can read, write, and speak English. Everyone and their parents were born in PA. Earl is a shipping clerk at an oil refinery. Kenneth is a "Typ?is?" in an oil refinery. No one else works. This census is dated 5 Apr 1930.

Kenneth E. (Ken) Bell, 95, of 7945 Franklin Pike, Meadville, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011 at Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community of Meadville, PA.
Ken was born in Franklin on May 30, 1916, son of the late Earl and Florence Beals Bell, on March 23, 1940. Ken married Nina Hendren; she survives.
He was a long-time member of Grace United Methodist Church of Meadville.
Following many years of service Ken retired from the former Talon Inc.,of Meadville, where he operated a cutting machine. He graduated from Rocky Grove High School in 1934. he was a U.S. Army veteran of W.W. II. Ken served as a member of Troop D, 16th Constabulary Squadron from July 26, 1945, until honorable discharge on July 6, 1946.
an avid outdoorsman, Ken enjoyed hunting, fishing and loved workingin his vegetable garden.
In addition to his wife Nina, of 71 years, Ken is survived by a son, Gene Bell and wife Sandra; two grandchildren, Greg Bell and Michael Bell; four great-grandchildren, River, Maya, Marsus and Micah all of Morocco, Indiana; a sister Dorothy Infield of Franklin; nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by two sisters, Ethel Reib and Olive Wilson.
... Funeral on Saturday at 2 p.m., (at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home, 404 Chestnut St., Meadville) with the Rev. Robert Goodnough, pastor of Grace UMC officiating. Interment in Mumford Cemetery, Fairfield township.
