6 Personal communication from William Arthur Thomas, grandson of Felix Chrisley Thomas:

...Felix our C. Thomas. I have also seen him referred to as Felix O. Thomas (I suspect the C looked like an O to someone). I have even seen it as Felix A C Thomas (1910 Census) which makes sense since my middle name of Arthur was supposedly his middle name.

Felix was born March of 1882, in or near Steel Creek, Mecklenberg County, NC. I was told all my life that he died just a few weeks before my father was born. However, I have yet to locate any information that confirms the date/location.

He married Mary Beulah Quinn - cousin is supposed to have the marriage information and will send it to me. Mary died on Nov. 11, 1934. She was buried on Nov. 13, 1934 in Gastonia, NC.

Together they had

Andrew Q. Thomas - he went by Quinn born in 1908 in York, SC. He married Mary (maiden name unknown) "Thomas" born in 1913. They had one child a son named John I. Thomas. John was born near Philadelphia, PA in 1929 he appears on the 1930 census as age 9 months. I do know that he married and that he and his wife did not have any children.

Nannie (some spellings have it as Nennie) Thomas was born in 1910 in York, SC. I believe she married and had a couple of daughters, but she lived out in Colorado if memory serves me and I only saw her once in my life. Trying to confirm details through a cousin.

Willie Thomas born 1913 in North Carolina either Gastonia or Fayetteville. She married C. Wray (pretty sure the C was for Charles). They did not have any children.

Please note there was a son born to Felix in 1915 in Fayetteville, Robeson County, NC. His given name was Felix Arthur Thomas. His mother was Roda Innis according the NC birth records. I do not know anything else about his mother. Felix did marry and had one son. He fought in the same unit as Audie Murphy during WW II. He suffered severe and eventually fatal injuries as the result of a land mind explosion just prior to the end of the war. He would be in and out of the hospital for the next 10 years. He died in 1956 in Montgomery, Alabama.

Lena Mae Thomas born in 1917 in Fayetteville, Robeson County, NC. She married and had a large family. Details are on my ancestory tree, but I will be more then happy to email you the information. She passed away in 2001 in Greensboro, NC.

My father Jessie G. Thomas was born Jan. 6, 1923 in Faretteville, Robeson County, NC and died Jan. 19, 1992 at Andrews AFB Hospital, Camp Springs, Maryland.

His first wife was Vera (unknown). She was from England. He met her on the base he was flying out of during WW II. She was an aircraft spotter. They had two sons.

My parents married on September 21, 1954.

My mother was Edna Betty Taylor, born June 20, 1926 in Philadelphia, PA. Daughter of Berwin A. Taylor (born 1897) and Edna Susan Manuel (born 1900) both born in Philadelphia, PA area.

My sister Reverend Susan Virginia Thomas was born Oct. 11, 1955 at Clark AFB, Manilla, Phillipine Islands. She died Feb. 11, 2005 in Baltimore, Maryland.
