Plummer, and the location is reasonable. His marriage to Laura Stewart came the following year. |  |

- The 1870 census lists wife "Lizzie". Since Robert married Laura E. Stewart in 1861 and is still married to Laura E. in 1880, it is clear that the E. in her name is Elizabeth and that at some point she was going by "Lizzie" as a nickname. There is no evidence for a second wife.
- No census data for the brothers of Arabella could be clearly identified after 1880. There were heads of household and others who might be the correct Charles, Frank and Robert, but not in places that made it seem clear that it was the right person. No marriage or other records could be identified.
- The sources disagree on the name of Robert A. Plummer's mother. In the 1850 census, Washington Plummer is married to "Amanda"; but the NC Marriage Records and the Sugaw Creek burial records indicate Susan or Susannah. Amanda could be a middle name.
