Alexander (age 27) and wife Sarah is the entry before the Plummers. It is likely that this Susan Alexander (age 92) is the mother or grandmother of the Susan Alexander (age 49) married to Washington Plummer and that Washington Alexander is a brother or nephew of Susan Alexander (age 49).
• The 1830 census shows a Susannah Alexander living next to James W. Plummer. Her age is 50-60. The 1840 census for Mecklenburg County is alphabetized, so neighbor relationships are obscured, but there is a Susannah Alexander, age 70-79 in the listing.
