Source Notes

The 1900 census reports the family had 9 children, 8 surviving. Of the six not listed in 1900, two do not have spouses on our record. Either William or Alice did not survive childhood. Duane Beals notes a death date of 1885 for Alice, death date unknown for William.

Conjecture

  • With no additional data except the apparent location of the grave of Betty Beals Johnson in the family plot of Dr. Wearne C. Beals & wife Margaret A., it is tentatively assumed that Betty is their daughter.
