Arminta Emanatha Beals
Arminta, known as Minta, or Aunt Mint, was born 18 March, 1883, to James Francis Beals and his second wife Olive Samantha Bower, on a farm near the high point of Richland Township, Venango County, PA. She had one younger sister, Florence Beals, born in 1884, a younger brother James Elgie Beals, born in 1889, and two older step-siblings, Charles and Bernice, from James Francis Beals’ first marriage to Adeline Kribbs. When Minta was eleven years old her mother died in childbirth, and the baby died also. Arminta married Joe Dittman, had ten children, and lived to be 79 years old. One of her daughters, Elva Dittman, married Lindsey Renfrew and they bought the old Bert Wilson farm in Nickleville.
