Will of Richard Hines
THE LAST WILL OF RICHARD HINES
In the name of God, Amen. I, Richard Hines of the County of Butler in the State of Pennsylvania in the United States of America being perfect in health and sound in mind and memory, being mindful of my mortality do make and constitute this my last will and testimony. First and principally I recommend my soul to God who gave it in hopes of a joyful resurection, and my body to the earth to be decently intered, the expenses of my funeral to be paid out of my estate which I may leave at the time of my decease, and as to such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me, I give and dispose thereof as follows.
Item 1st I give and bequeath to my oldest son Alexander Hines, the sum of five dollars lawful money of the United States, to be paid one year after my decease.
Item 2nd I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary Hines (alias) McCracken the sum of Five dollars lawful money of the United States, one year after my decease.
Item 3rd I give and bequeath to my daughter Susana Hines (alias Gibson) the sum of Five dollars lawful money of the United States to be paid one year after my decease.
Item 4th I give and bequeath to my son Richard Hines the sum of five dollars lawful money of the United States, to be paid in one year after my decease.
Item 5th I give and bequeath to my Elizabeth Hines (alias Wimer) the sum of fifty dollars lawful money of the United States, to be paid in one year after my decease.
And as to all and singular the remainder of my estate both real and personal I do give and bequeath the same to my son George Hins, my daughter Jane and my daughter Elinor Hines share and share alike to be divided by themselves as they may see most proper upon conditions that they will keep their mother my wife Jane Hins in comfortable apparel, and good and sufficient boarding and lodging during her natural life.
Item 6 It is also my will and request that in case any of the above named George, Jane and Eleanor Hins or any two wish to have the real property which is the plantation on which I now live divided, that three suitable persons may be appointed by them (one by each) to make said dividend with as little injury to each or any the Said Geo. Jane and Eleanor Hines as may be possible, and in case only two wish to divide they shall take unto themselves a third competent person to make said dividend.
Item 7 It is also my will and request that in case of a division of my landed property that my son George shall have privilege to chose that part of the same where divided whereon the present house and messuage now stands. It is also my wish and request that this my last will and testament be understood by all men only in the manner and form as now written and in no other what so ever. I do nominate and appoint my son George Hines and my daughter Eleanor Hines sole executors of this my last will and testament as witness my hand and seal this nineteenth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty two.

Before me James T. McSimkin, Register for the probate of (wills) in and for said county, came Andrew Glenn and George A. Kirkpatrick the subscribing witnesses to the above and foregoing will and being sworn and affirmed according to law do depose and say that (they) were present with the Testator Richard Hins (sic) at the time of the exe---of said will and that they saw and heard the said testator sign ---his mark to publish and declare the foregoing instrument of --as and for his last will and testament and at the time of so -- he appeared to them to be of sound and disposing mind and ---and they at his request and in his presence and in the presence of --other subscribed their names as witnesses thereunto.
Sworn and affirmed and subscribed before me this 10th day of March AD 1854

Sir, I hereby renounce having anything to do as Executor---last will and testament of Richard Hines dec'd, and desire the Register to grant testamentary alone to Eleanor Hines the other executrix appointed in the will of said----.

Be it remembered that on the 10th day of March AD 1854 Letters Testament were issued on the above will to Eleanor Hines the other Executrix appointed in the said will she being sworn will and truly to administer the ---and chattles rights and credits which were of the said deceased --make a just inventory and appraisement of the same and exhibit same in the Registers Office at Butler within thirty days from the date Letters and to render a just account of her administration in one year when thereunto lawfully required.
