  • The gravestone for Franklin N. Shiray, son of J. & M, at St. Petersburg Cemetery, is likely for Franklin L., son of James & Polley Shirey. James' family are living next door to his father Samuel Shirey in the 1870 census. "Polly" is a nickname for Mary. The initial discrepancy is unresolved. The gravestone for Franklin N. Shirayis immediately to the right of that for his grandfather, Samuel Shirey.

Samuel's wife, Sarah Johnson, is listed as born 1808 in Berks Co. PA, daughter of David Johnson & wife Elizabeth unknown. Sarah Johnson is the only child listed for this couple. No further information on David & Elizabeth Johnson, or for John & Elizabeth Shirey.

John Shirey b. Dec. 1781 in Berks Co. PA; died 9 Aug 1862 in Washington, Berks Co. PA. His parents were Phillip Shirey (1751-1833) and Anna Elizabeth Keim (1760-?). Phillip Shirey born 29 Jan 1757 Berks Co. PA; died 9 Apr. 1833 in Unity, Westmoreland Co. PA. Thirteen children listed, including oldest child John Shirey. Phillip Shirey's parents not listed.

Conrad Keim born 3Dec 1734 in Oley, Berks Co. PA; died 15 Aug 1776 in Oley. ; married 1757. Parents of Conrad Keim were Johannes Hans Keim (1675-1753) and Maria Elizabeth Bollerin (1713-1772). Parents of Johannes Hans Keim were Johann Keim (1647-1732) & wife (1650-1675). They married in Speier, Bavaria in 1667. One child listed: Johannes "Hans" Keim.
