They live with four children: daughter Winni Kline, 22; daughter Gladys Kline, 19; son Frederick Kline, 12; and daughter Mary Kline, 6. John and Ella Kline are listed as having been married for 25 years. Ella Kline has given birth to five children, all of whom are still living. Everyone and their parents were born in PA. John A. Kline is listed as a farmer and Frederick Kline is listed as a laborer, both of whom work on the family farm. Everyone can read, write, and speak English. Frederick Kline and Mary Kline attended school within the census year. This census is dated 30 Apr 1910 - 2 May 1910.

2 1920 United States Federal Census, Richland Township, Venango County, PA, Enumeration District 139, Page 3, lines 69-71 lists widow Ella Kline, 54, living with two children: son Fred Kline, 22, and daughter Mary P. Kline, 16. They live on a farm, which Ella Kline owns with no mortgage. Everyone can read, write, and speak English. Everyone was born in PA, though Ella Kline's parents were both born in Germany and speak German as their native tounge. Ella Kline is listed as a "farm manager" and Fred Kline is listed as a "farm laborer and oil well worker." This census is dated 4 Feb 1920.

Pauline E. Fillgrove, 87, formerly of Oil City, died Thursday, 12 Nov., 2009. Born in Volant, the daughter of Marco and Paquatta Bonanni Demofonte, she was a member of Faith Lutheran Church of Venus and Advent Lutheran Church of Augusta, GA. She is survived by son Theodore Fillgrove, his wife, Julie; a daughter, Karleen Fillgrove; a sister, Lana Rice and husband Delbert of New Castle; brother Elmer Demofonte of Marlton, N.J. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Sonya Adams and her husband, Chris; Reba Shipes and her husband, David, and Richard Fillgrove; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceeded in death by her husband, Karl. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Salem Cemetery, Lamartine. The family suggests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Note: per Nancy Walls, Pauline was married first to a Mr. Allen, and Theodore was his son but adopted by Karl Fillgrove. Karleen was adopted also. Ted resides in the south, Karleen in VA. Pauline also had a brother Ernie. Per G. Fillgrove, Karleen did not reside in VA, but with her brother in GA.

Karl Fillgrove of Franklin (PA) died in Oil City Hospital. Born in Richland Twp., son of Harold L. Fillgrove and Mary Kline Fillgrove. VEt. of World War II in the European theater with the 955 Ordnance Co. Member Faith Luthran Chin Venus (PA) Married in Grove City (PA) to Pauline Demofonte Allen. She survives alongwith mother (of Mariasville), a son: Theodore Fillgrove, serving with US Army in Germany; a daughter KArleen ; a brother John D. Fillgrove of Oil City; three grandchildren His father and a brother, Stanley K. Fillgrove are deceased. Service at Hutchison and Morton Funeral Home; interment at Salem Lutheran Church Cemetery in Lamertine. Mr. Fillgrove was a past president of the Northwestern Pennsylvania Firemen's Assn. and has been affiliated wih several volunteer firemen's groups.

Funeral of Stanley Kline "Butch" Fillgrove of RD 1 Emlenton (Lamertine) was Saturday 28 Aug (1971). He died in a collision on I-80 near Bloomsburg, PA on Wednesday. Born 19 July 1941 at RD 3, Emlenton. Parents Harold L. Fillgrove and Mary Kline Fillgrove. Married to Jeanette Brothers who survives along with four children: Kevin Lee Fillgrove, Kerry Lance Fillgrove, Kristine Louise Fillgrove and Kathy Lynne Fillgrove, all at home. Also surviving are his mother, of RD 3 Emlenton; two brothers: Karl F. Fillgrove of Oil City (north Side Star Route) and John L Fillgrove of Oil City. Services were conducted by Criswell Funeral Home, with the Rev. Earl G. Runge of Salem Lutheran Ch. presiding. Interment was at Salem Lutheran Cemetery. Mr. Fillgrove worked for Kaplan Trucking Co. of Cleveland, OH. He was a member of Salem Lutheran. He served in the US Navy 1960-64 and was a member of the American Legion Post 997 (Lamertine).

6 Jan 1987 Mary Philista (Kline) Fillgrove, age 83, died Tuesday at the home of her son in Oil City. Born 13 Aug 1903 in Richland Twp., Venango Co., PA, the daughter of John Abrahm Kline and Ann Elizabeth Frederick Kline. Married Harold Lewis Fillgrove in 1920. He died in June 1968. Survived by a son: John L. Fillgrove of Oil City, nine grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons: KArl and Stanley (Butch); three sisters: Annie (Mrs. Austin) Sheffer, Winnie (Mrs. Elgie) Beals, and Gladys (Mrs. Otis) Sheffer; and a brother: Frederick Kline. Criswell-Gardinier Funeral Home is making arrangements. Mrs. Fillgrove was a homemaker. She was a member of Salem Lutheran church and president of the Lutheran Council of Women and of the women's auxillary to the DeHart-Rossman American Legion. She graduated from East Home HS and attended Slippery Rock Normal School. Funeral is 2 pm in Salem Lutheran Church, Rev. Thomas Prosser, pastor of Edenburg Presbyterian Church will Officiate. Burial in Salem Lutheran Cemetery.

John Louis Fillgrove, age 78, of 445 Bissell Ave., Oil City died 20 MArch 2003. Born 26 Oct 1924, son of the late Harold and Mary P. Kline Fillgrove. He graduated fro Richland Twp. schools. During World War II, he was a truck driver. He retired as a driver for Daniels Transfer in Franklin after 30 years. He operated the Little Corner Store on East First St. He was a member of the Salem United Methodist and Trinity United Methodist Church, the Clarion County Histoical Society. He was an accomplished model airplane builder and pilot. He was married to Helen Victoria Spencer who died 23 July 1992. Surviving are three children: George Lewis Fillgrove (wife Carolynn) of Friendship, NY, and John Spencer Fillgrove and Elizabeth Fillgrove, both of Oil City; two grandchildren: John L. Fillgrove II and Rachel S. Fillgrove, both of Friendship NY; two sisters-in-law: Jeanette Fillgrove of Knox and Pauline Fillgrove of Coal Hill; a brother-in-law: Robert George "Josh" Spencer (wife Sally) of Camis, WA; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers: Karl Fillgrove and Stanley "Butch" Fillgrove. Service will at Trinity UMC 11 am with Rev Bruce Merritt, pastor, officiating. Internment at the Salem Lutheran Cemetery in Lamertine. Morrison Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Major George Fillgrove, US Air Force Auxillary, Civil Air Patrol, given the 2005 Frank G. Brewer Memorial Aerospace Award. (See text of article). Son of the late John and Helen Fillgrove of Oil City. Wife is 1st Leut. Carolynn Hampshire Fillgrove, dau. of the late David Hampshire and Violet Huling, formerly of Henry's Bend. The Fillgroves have two children and four step-children.
