Headstone "STROTMAN" with four smaller stones in front of it, three without surnames (presumably Strotman) and another, surname Hogue. Left to right facing the headstone:
  • Catherine I. Hogue 1923-1940
  • Perry M. 1879-1962
  • Effie S 1879-1940
  • Cecil A. 1915-1916
To the left of these markers is a stone for Lawrence W. Hogue 1892-1966, "Father", & wife Viola E. 1900-1972, "Mother". It is possible that the Catherine I. Hogue stone is at the outer edge of this Hogue plot, instead of part of the Strotman plot. It is of the same pink marble and same design as the 3 Strotman stones, & unlike the Lawrence & Viola Hogue stone. Adjacent to the stone for Catherine I. Hogue is:
  • HOGUE Lawrence W 1892-1966 "father"; Viola E. 1900-1972, "mother"

Source Notes

  • Among the Strotman gravestones at Perry's Chapel Cemetery, Ashland Twp., Clarion Co. PA, is a stone for Effie (1879-1940). She was Effie Lewis, and spouse of Perry Strotman. She is not to be confused with Effie Strotman, (daughter of John Henry Strotman), who also was born in 1879 but died that same year. The plot for Perry Strotman (son of Amos Strotman) and wife Effie Lewis, includes a stone for their son Cecil A. Strotman, and a granddaughter Catherine I. Hogue.
