Will of William Branand 1840

The last will and testament of William Branand of Slipperyrock Township, Butler County, State of Penna.
In the name of God I William Brannand considering the uncertainty of this mortal life and being in sound mind and memory (blessed be almighty God for the same) do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following (that is to say) first and chiefly I recommend my soul to God and my body to the dust to be burried in a decent and Christian manner.
Second I give and bequeath unto my daughter Betsy Hines on dollar; third I give and bequeath unto my daughter Polly Cornelius one dollar; fourth I give and bequeath unto my daughter Susannah St. Clair one dollar; fifth I give and bequath unto my son Thomas Brannand all my right title interest and claim of in and ot the real estate I now live on and also all the remainder of my personal property after paying all my just debts funeral charges and the bequeaths as above stated and lastly I appoint my son Thomas Branand to be my executor to execute this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the 5th day of December AD 1840.

Signed, sealed published and declared by the above named Wm. Branand to be his last will and testament in the presents of us who at his request and in his presence have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto.
