In the Name of God Amen, I James Robison of the Township of Slipperyrock in the County of Butler, being sick and weak in Body but of Sound Mind, Memory and understanding (praise be to God for it). Considering the Certainty of Death and the uncertainty of the time thereof and to the end I may be better prepared to leave this World whenever it may please God to call me home, do ___make and Declare this my last Will and Testament in the manner follwoing (viz.) first and principally I commend my Soul into the Hands of Almighty God my Creator who gave it, and as to Such worldly Estates wherewith it hath pleased God to intrust me, I dispose of the same as follows - I will that all my just debts as shall be by me owing at my Death, together with my Funeral Expenses and all Charges as touching or (proving?) of or otherwise concerning this my will Shall in the first place be fully paid or satisfied as soon after my Decease as conveniently may be out of my personal Estate if Sufficient for that purpose and if not I allow the old farm on which I now reside to be rented and the rent applied to that purpose - and the residue of the rent of said farm until the youngest of my children arrives at the age of twenty one years - together with all other Moneys remaining after paying the said debts shall ___into and become, and be part of my Personal Estate, and I will allow my son John to get five Dollars for his Share to be paid by my Executors as soon after the Debts shall be all paid as convenient or tractable for him to do and my will is that my other children now living get the other Lot of ground Called the (30 acres)Tract adjoining Joseph (Elrod) for a Home until the youngest of them becomes of age to be occupied by them (as/and?) their guardian hereafter named may she prosper - Alis Mc(Bride?) and as to all the rest and residue of my personal Estate and Effects whatsoever which shall remain after paument of my debts and s____ legaceys aforesaid, together with all my Real Estate whatsoever lying and being in the said Township of Slipperyrock and all interests be equally divided amongst my five youngest children viz. Margaret, William, Robert, James, and Joseph Share and Share alike at the time the youngest of them arrives at the age of twenty one years or to their respective heirs or assigns and if one or more of them should not live until that time and leave no heirs then my will is that their Share or Shares shall sink into and become part of the legacy of the remaining Children of the five then living to be Equally divided amongst them their heirs executors administrators or asigns Share and Share alike. - and the tuition and guardianship of the persons of which of my Children as Shall be under the age of twenty one years at the time of my demise I give to my friend James Clark of Said Township - and I make and ordain the Said James Clark Executor of this my Last will and testament -In Witness whereof I the said testator James Robison have to this my last will and Testament set my hand and seal the 4th day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty four.
N.B. Before signing I will and Bequeath the Bed and Bedstead on which I lie together with the Bureau now in my house as an Exception out of my Personal property mentioned above unti my Daughter Margaret over and above her equal one fifth spoken of above.
