NOTE: There are numerous indirect sources on the internet that interpret the lack of William King appearing in the 1870 census as an indication that he has already died. This is further confounded by the existence of multiple William J. A. Kings, one of which did die in 1867. However, all children listed here share the same last name and all of them list William King as their father in their death certificates.

Research

The material in this section is for research leads only. We do not wish to imply any connection to our family at present, nor suggest its use without additional confirmation.

  • Research of Eddie Hyland of Charlotte, a cousin of Robbie King Whisnant. He shows the wife of George W. Plummer (1820-1907) as Nancy A. Hodge (1820-1891). The parents of Geoprge W. Plummer might have been Zephaniah Plummer and Nancy Orr. This latter is marked as uncertain in the communication.
