KATHLEEN ESTHER WORTZKEY STOUGHTON

4-15-1884 -- 2-25-1960

Mrs. Kathleen E. Stoughton, 75, widow of Bernard V. Stoughton and resident of 1015 West Third Street, Oil City, died at 11:30 a.m. Thursday in the Oil City Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was the mother of Gene Stoughton, an outstanding football player at Oil City some 30 years ago. He now teaches school in California.

She was born at Whig Hill, Forest County, the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Rudolph Wortzkey.

Mrs. Stoughton was a member of the Lutheran Church. She married Bernard Vonzant Stoughton on July 14, 1900. He died in 1958.

Survivors include the following children: Mrs. Carrie Danko of Buffalo, N.Y.; John Stoughton and Vonzant Stoughton of Oil City; Gene Stoughton of Anaheim, California; Mrs. Kathleen Wurster Jr. and Mrs. Phyllis Loper of Venus. A daughter, Miss Virginia Stoughton, is deceased. Surviving sisters are Mrs. Elizabeth Campbell of Ford City; Mrs. Carrie Miles of Rochester, N.Y.; Mrs. Ada (Louise) Hill of East Hickory; Mrs. Mary Meade of Irvine, Pa. Also 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren survive.

The body was removed to the Rhodes Funeral Home in Tionesta where friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home with Rev. Arden Survey of St, Luke Lutheran Church of Venus officiating.

Interment will be in the East Hickory Riverside Cemetery.
