NOT A DIRECT ANCESTOR

Jacob Kribbs is not in my direct ancestry. He is the father of Adeline Kribbs. She is related by marriage, in the following ways:

Jacob Kribbs was a son of Christian Kribbs & wife Mary. He grew up on his parents 200 acre homestead in Beaver Twp., Clarion Co. PA, and helped to clear the land. In 1845 he purchased a farm of 145 acres in Ashland Twp. which was partially cleared and had some log buildings erected by the previous owner. Jacob cleared the land, built more modern buildings, and farmed until 1880 at which time he rented the farm to his son Burbage Martin Kribbs. Jacob retired to a smaller 30 acre farm in Salem Twp. until his death 6 Oct 1908. He was a Democrat, and served as county auditor, and as justice of the peace in Ashland Twp.
His wife Delilah Martin was born 19 Nov. 1823, & died Aug. 1903. Her father, Bernhart Martin, was born in France and immigrated to America with a brother and sister.
Jacob Kribbs & wife Delilah were Lutherans. They raised a family of ten children.
