Source notes
The 1870 census lists wife "Lizzie". Since Robert married Laura E. Stewart in 1861 and is still married to Laura E. in 1880, it is clear that the E. in her name is Elizabeth and that at some point she was going by "Lizzie" as a nickname. There is no evidence for a second wife.

Research Wishlist
Something is mixed up here regarding the marriage date. The 1870 census shows him married to Lizzie, the 1880 census shows him married to Laura. But the Laura marriage date (which is listed as his second marriage) is given as 1861. Something is rotten in the state of NC. -RBW
