Benjamin Scarbrough, age 41, farmer; Frances (female) age 31; John, age 16; B. F., age 14, Wm. age 11; Martha E. age 10; Robert H. age 5; James E. age 1; Rachael Morton age 32.
Another Morton is found nearby in the household of John B. Ballard age 49, & family: Rhoda Morton, age 23, listed as "pauper, fits"
Note: at this time, this census is the only source suggesting a connection to Benjamin Scarbrough.


At present this is the only evidence we have of a possible parentage of John Scarboro. John's age is in the correct range in the Benjamin Scarbrough family, and the location is good.

All born in NC.
