4 Interview of John Francis Leckie, 28 Nov 2013; interview by Elizabeth Wilson Williams and David John Leckie.
Margaret Mary Clark went by "Peggy". She was born in the Maywood, IL hospital. She died in 1999.
Her parents were Margaret Mary Inglesby, whose ancestry was Irish and some Norwegian; and Francis Clark, middle initial possibly F. They resided on Crawford Ave. in Chicago. Margaret Mary Clark's sister married an O'Neal. Leckies and O'Neals were from Northern Ireland (Protestant), and earlier from northern Scotland, and area called "no man's land" just south of Glasgow, isolated and poor.

Source notes

  • Per John F. Leckie, his sister Margaret (or maybe Pat) Leckie has a more complete record of Leckie & Clark families.

Research Notes

  • A John Clark, age 16, b. NY is found in the 1870 census for Douglas, Dakota Co., MN. He is one of several hired hands on a large farm owned by a George Wilson. No other evidence connects him to our John S. Clark.
