Kathleen E. Wurster, 84, formerly of Venus RD 1, died Thursday, Feb. 22,
2001, in The Caring Place, Franklin, where she had resided.
Mrs. Wurster was a lifelong resident of Oil City and the Venus area.
Born June 20, 1916, in Oil City, she was a daughter of Bernard V. and
Kathleen WORSKY STOUGHTON.
Mrs. Wurster was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Venus and the Faith
Circle of the church.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Wurster was married Aug. 9, 1938, to George E. Wurster, who died Oct.
30, 1988.
Surviving are a son, Eugene STEER, and his wife, Beatrice, of Venus RD 1;
one sister-in-law, Dorothy OCHS of Oil City; seven grandchildren, Linda
MILLER and Bill Steer, both of Oil City, Jeanne Steer of Maryland, Debbie
PUZ of Butler, Cynthia MEDDOCK of Henrys Bend, Michael Steer of South
Carolina and Shane Steer with the U.S. Coast Guard, Long Island; and 13
great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Wurster was preceded in death
by three brothers, John Stoughton, Von Stoughton and Gene Stoughton; three
sisters, Carrie DANKO, Phylis LOPER and Virginia Stoughton; and a grandson,
George Alan Steer.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Faller Funeral
Home, Fryburg.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home with
the Rev. John Wood, pastor of Faith Lutheran Church in Venus, officiating.
Interment will follow in the Venus Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made to the Visiting Nurses Association of Venango County.
