I seem to be the only one of our delegation who found the all-Kazakh Beatles cover band to be horribly painful to listen to. I do admit that "Back in the USSR" was a riot... but otherwise, not good.

Anyway, I'm on my way back to the states having successfully weathered 2.5 days of meetings in Almaty. My contribution consisted of running a meeting that lasted about an hour and a half, then giving a 20 minute talk the following day on the contents of that meeting. Trips like this, that don't involve any technical work, are not my favorite parts of the job... but they're a necessary evil. And it looks like I'll probably be coming back in January to do some real work. :)

The good news is that I got upgraded on my trans-atlantic flight to Atlanta, which is due to depart Frankfurt in approximately one hour. Aaah....
