What I've been working on

Here's the instrument I've been working on for most of this year. It's the brains behind a modular gamma ray and neutron detection instrument.

This is the first major product we've produced for which I was the head designer. I just got all of the major hardware blocks populated and tested and everything is working great.

Isn't this like classified or something?

who are you and where do you come from???

Jason: nope; I changed fields when I started my postdoc and pretty much everything I do now is in the open.

Eric: Wow, haven't talked to you in ages! How's it going? And in answer to your question, I am Luther Axehandle and I hail from Ohio.

That's sweet. Did you design the PCB as well or just the functionality of making it work the way you wanted?

I did basically the whole thing, including speccing out parts, the schematic, some of the layout (we have a layout specialist), some of the population, and all of the testing. The IAEA specified what capabilities they wanted in the device and I basically took it from there.
