I just spent a few hours out at the overlook with my camera experimenting with long exposure photography. I'd like to start trying to photograph some of the lightning storms we have around here, and before I can do that I need to figure out the idiosyncracies of my camera under low light conditions. Take a look and tell me what you think.

that one is pretty cool. I sorta like how it looks like dusk, but you can see all the stars.
this one http://mouser.org/gallery/longexposure/IMG_2004 has a very 'StarMan' feel to it...maybe a little 'Close Encounters' thrown in for good measure.
very nice.
how do you like the rebel so far?
The rebel is a great camera. I probably don't need the added flexibility of the 10-D or 20-D, but it is sufficiently featurefull to allow me to spend enormous amounts of money on lenses and what-not. 2000 photographs taken since December... I'll probably double that by the end of this year.
I like the guardrail pictures the best. They remind me of stills from "Mulholland Drive" by David Lynch or something. Very cool stuff.
Nice start. You will want to generally overexpose the night photos from what your meter says. Take a look at my night photos (http://www.interwalk.com/gallery.htm )or check out http://www.thenocturnes.com . That is where most of us learned how to do night phogography. -Mark
